Living in Worthing, SD

Like many of the other Sioux Falls suburbs, Worthing was established during the westward expansion of the railroads. The city was incorporated in 1879 by Fred Gerber and James Madden as a part of the expanding Milwaukee Road. Worthing is nestled on a prairie, and has seen a huge population increase in the past couple of decades due to the rapid growth of Sioux Falls. Worthing is now in transition from a small farming town to a vibrant and modern community just outside Sioux Falls.

Worthing hosts several adult and youth programs that residents regularly partake in. Adult programs include volleyball, while youth activities range from soccer, cheer camp and wrestling to vacation bible school and art camp for kids. In 2010, Worthing began development for the Worthing Recreation Complex, which is the city's largest park.

The public schools in Worthing are as follows: Worthing Elementary school, Chancellor Elementary school, Lennox Elementary school, LWC Middle school, amd Lennox High School. Worthing is incorporated into the Lennox School District, which serves approximately 1,000 students.
