Renner, South Dakota is located just north of Sioux Falls in the southeast area of the state. It has a population of approximately 2,000 residents. The town was founded in 1898 and named after Leonard Renner, a local farmer on who's land a depot along the Milwaukee Road was built. The Renner Lutheran Sanctuary is also located in the town, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Renner is also home to Strawbale Winery, which is a unique straw bale constructed winery. The farm setting and surroundings will remind you of a simpler time, allowing you to escape the stress of your everyday life.
Students who reside in Renner attend Renberg Elementary School in Renner, and then attend middle and high school in neighboring Sioux Falls.
