Lennox is a small town in southeast South Dakota of about 2,100 residents. The city was named after Ben Lennox, a railroad official. The motto of the town is "Come Grow With Us," representing the growth of the area as well as the progessive approach it takes to the future. The community is founded on the values of family and tradition.
Lennox operates mostly on volunteer labor, including the Fire Department, Historical Society, and several other committees. There are also many local ammenities that the town offers, such as the community library and museums. Lennox is also well-known for its annual Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration, which includes a morning road race and an afternoon parade.
The Lennox School District is known for the high quality of education it provides. There are three public elementary schools, one public middle school, and one public high school. The total number of students currently enrolled is approximately 830.
